About This Program Series:
This program is the second of a series of four offered throughout 2011. Content is based upon the findings of a Cornell University Center for Advanced Human Resources study which indicated four areas of focus for organizational top human resources professionals: the role of trusted advisor; understanding and operating within corporate governance mechanisms; leading high performing human resources teams; and succession and talent management from a CEO's perspective.
What You Will Learn:
Failure in corporate governance can threaten the very existence of the firm. However, o..en there is too little forethought among business executives of the critical importance of governance mechanisms in mediating the problems that arise as a result of the corporate form. This course provides a framework for understanding the objective and function of corporate governance, with particular atiention to executive compensation systems and the management of key stakeholders.
